KRA Supports Community Event for the Homeless

Recently, KRA staff members Brittany Brown, Job Developer; Yelva Burley, Job Coach; Shari Cain, Career Agent;  Yvette Clark, Lead Job Developer; and  Jermietra Carroll, Work Activity Coordinator of the Baltimore City Work Participation, Placement, and Support Services Program attended the Baltimore Project Homeless Connect event.  Organized by the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services, the United Way of Central Maryland, and numerous Baltimore-area service providers and non-profit organizations, the free event was open to all, not just those coping with homelessness. KRA Supports Community Golf Tournament for Youth

Timmikki Brown is 37, single, and mother to a 14-year old daughter.  She had a strong work history, having been employed as an Administrative Assistant, a Lead Cook, a Home Health Aide, and a Food and Nutrition Supervisor…but was unemployed when she enrolled in KRA’s Work Participation, Placement, and Support Services Program in Baltimore, Maryland.  The Program, which is 12 weeks in duration, provides comprehensive Community Work Experience (CWE), occupation-specific skills training, and job-search and placement assistance for recipients of Temporary Cash Assistance benefits. As reported previously, for the Baltimore City Department of Social Services, KRA operates a Work Participation, Placement, and Support Services Program that provides comprehensive Community Work Experience and occupation-specific skills training for recipients of Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) benefits.  KRA also provides job-search and placement services, and when the customer has obtained and retained a job for at least 12 weeks, he/she is considered to have completed the program.
