Almost a year ago to the day, on December 23, 2022, KRA reported on the Grand Opening of our Reno-based American Job Center of Nevada (AJCN), operated for Nevadaworks since October 12, 2018, as an EmployNV Business/Career HUB.
Then-Governor Stephen Sisolak officiated, sharing his thoughts regarding the critical role of HUB operations in the economic success of the Region. When he was Clark County Commissioner, Sisolak had served as Master of Ceremony for the AJCN’s original October 12, 2018 opening.
At the time, Terrance Bowens, KRA Program Manager, commented, “KRA is excited about the EmployNV re-brand! It has given our AJCN operation at the Reno Town Mall what might have been perceived as a ‘local’ program recognition as an integral component of a statewide workforce-services system.”
On December 12, 2023, the Reno EmployNV Business/Career HUB was back on 2 NEWS with, “If you’re looking for a new job heading into the new year, the state of Nevada has programs and services to get you on the right path.
“Nevadaworks, Northern Nevada’s hub for job seekers and employers, helps with training and certification in 13 Nevada counties.”
“Our primary job is to connect job seekers and employers and create that talent pipeline, said Milt Steward, CEO of Nevadaworks. We focus on the in-demand occupations and industries, but we’ll help anyone that needs assistance.”
