KRA staff and program youth, in partnership with the Food Bank of South Eastern Virginia, organized holiday food drives to collect non-perishable items for the food bank. This was always an ideal opportunity for both staff and students to give back during the holidays when many families are most in need of assistance.

KRA Staff Conduct Outreach at Adult Education Resource Fair
The students, who were enrolled in American Citizenship, English as a Second Language, and GED classes, were given a thorough overview of available KRA program resources and services, as well as those of various social service agencies in the community. After the formal presentation, staff visited one-on-one with students to answer questions and distribute materials and publications.

KRA Staff and Dr. Suess Delight Children
KRA staff volunteered with the Adair County School system as part of the “Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Day/Read Across Adair County” initiative. Staff greeted families and students as they arrived, read books to the younger children, assisted with face- painting activities, served pizza and drinks to the families and students, dressed up as the Easter Bunny for photos with the smaller children, and helped clean up the facility after the festivities.
