KRA Brings Innovative Solutions to the State of Louisiana

KRA is pleased to announce its partnership with the Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) to lead participants of the Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program (FITAP) toward sustainable employment.

KRA’s Work Activities and Career Pathways Program supports jobseekers in meeting FITAP-participation requirements, accelerating their progress in acquiring the skills business partners require for successful job placement.  Initially, we will operate the program in the State’s northern region in the parishes surrounding Shreveport, Monroe, and Alexandria.

By offering tailored workforce services that leverage local resources and evidence-based practices, KRA aims to support the DCFS in achieving positive outcomes for work-eligible FITAP participants.  Studies have shown consistently that individuals engaged in a combination of work- and education-related activities and job-placement services experience long-term gains, increased employment rates, and reduced reliance on cash assistance.

According to Patrick Boxall, Executive Vice President & CSO, “We are thrilled to launch this new program.  It is the product of a collaboration with DCFS leadership to determine how best to meet the unique needs of participants in the region, building on KRA’s 42+ years’ experience in workforce development.  It is going to have a transformational, real-life impact on the families and communities served.”

Derrick Colbert, Director, Strategic Partnerships, added, “KRA is excited to partner with DCFS to provide upward economic-mobility services for FITAP recipients.  We anticipate a productive and fruitful relationship, working toward economic independence and success that will change participants’ lives for years to come.”
