KRA/San Diego Pilots New Employment Application

The New York Daily News article headlined “Dump That Résumé! A New App is Kicking Old School Job Searches to the Curb”, referring to Apploi, an interactive mobile employment tool, allowing jobseekers to create portfolios and profiles; access audio/video features; and showcase personality and soft skills, as well as job qualifications.

What sets Apploi apart from other job-search sites, is that it uses real-time data about local employers, showing where the jobs are geographically, by industry sector, and even providing personalized recommendations for the applicant about education/training needed for those positions.

Maxine Suka, Program Manager, San Diego Metro Region One-Stop/AJCC, operated by KRA for the San Diego Workforce Partnership, reported, “Apploi does not replace  personalized job-placement services for our Career Services customers.  We’ve simply added another resource for our jobseekers to search and apply for nearby jobs.

We will continue to provide individual career-path planning/development, job development, and workforce-preparation services, but independently, customers can  access the app on one of our Apploi kiosks, download it onto a smart phone or tablet, or go to ‘Apploi.com’ and work directly online.  Immediately, a map displays the jobs available with local employers.

Based on our success here in San Diego, the company is actively  exploring the installation of Apploi kiosks in other KRA program sites across the country.”
