On October 12, 2018, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Grand Opening of the new American Job Center Of Nevada, Stephen F. Sisolak was Commissioner of Clark County, Nevada. On January 7, 2019, he was sworn into office as the 30th Governor of Nevada! KRA Takes Leadership Role in Community Walkway Clean Up

Recently, under the headline “Mud damaged trail in January becoming refurbished Montecito walking path this month”, John Palminteri [KEYT.com] reported, “A once mud covered section of Jameson Lane is getting refurbished to make a new neighborhood walkway. Covered in mud and debris in the January Montecito disaster, a newly refurbished trail is about to open.”  Though the project was on county land, the site-restoration work, coordinated by KRA and the Santa Barbara Workforce Resource Center, was funded by a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant. In August 2018, Chance Shelton, 23, enrolled in YouthWorks!, a career-development program for Out-of-School Youth and young adults (18-24) operated by KRA for the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC). The Chicago Westside American Job Center, operated by KRA for the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (CCWP), was an integral participant in pre-screening job-seeking hopefuls for the invitation-only World Business Chicago Westside Hiring Fair. World Business Chicago, a not-for-profit corporation, coordinates Chicago’s business retention and attraction efforts; raises Chicago’s profile as a prime business location; and serves as a resource for the community, bringing together key parties in the public- and private-sectors to accelerate economic development and growth. Why the Current Workforce System is Not Suited to Help Medicaid Beneficiaries Meet Work Requirements

In January 2018, when James LeBlanc, KRA Program Manager, recruited a local drivers’ education business as a Work Experience Program supporter, he was more than pleased that YouthWorks!  was gaining not just a valuable employer-partner, but an invaluable community-involvement partner as well! Benjamin and Allan Griffin founded B&A Brothers Driving Academy, LLC in honor and memory of their brother Bernard Griffin. On September 19th, the San Diego County Career Centers, operated by KRA for the San Diego Workforce Partnership—winner of the 2018 NAWB National WIOA Trailblazer Award—hosted its third Annual Job-I-Con Hiring Fair, an extremely beneficial event for  jobseekers and employers alike. Jobseekers get to talk up their experience and expertise, connecting with dozens of employers in a relatively short amount of time.
