Osiris enrolled at one of the five KRA San Diego Metro Region Career Centers, operated for the San Diego Workforce Partnership, and discovered that a realistic Individual Employment Plan, job-skills training with national credentialing, and targeted KRA/San Diego workshops were the keys to attracting an employer—2,600 miles away!
Focused on a government-services administrative career, Osiris received exceptional service from Career Agent Jordan Finkelstein in developing an IEP that included a WIOA-funded Administrative Professional/ Microsoft Office Specialist certification program, with an online option, and workshops on How to Write a Federal Resume and Federal Jobs Applications.
Before finishing training, Osiris discovered a Federal-level opportunity; traveled cross-country, twice, to interview; and accepted an offer from the Fort Detrick, Maryland, U.S. Army Medical Command as a Child and Youth Services Worker.
Osiris, and 8-year old son, has adjusted successfully to a big climate change…and a little west-to-east coast culture shock, and is completing her Microsoft training/certification online.
