KRA Launches 6th Annual Community Care Campaign

Take a Stand Against Domesic ViolenceRecently, Knowlton R. Atterbeary, KRA President & CEO, announced the launch of the firm’s 2014 Community Care Campaign, stating, “During October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, KRA employees, coast-to-coast, will be supporting the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence in its mission ‘to work for major societal changes necessary to eliminate both personal and societal violence against all women and children’.

Domestic violence is a national epidemic, causing unspeakable harm and injury, and even death, to its victims.  But, sometimes a ‘national’ issue finds its way into our own backyards—and we must deal with it face-to-face.

Too often, in our workforce-services programs, we find that domestic violence is the most critical barrier to a jobseeker’s ability to effectively plan and build a successful career path—exacerbating an already challenging situation!  So, a major component of our Campaign is to raise funds and organize drives for clothing and other items to benefit our local partners—advocacy agencies, organizations, and shelters—in the communities we serve.

KRA Community Care Campaigns have supported many in-need populations—gravely-ill children, the elderly, our Veterans.  But this year may be the most impactful, as we support the NCADV and our community partners to ‘Take a Stand Against Domestic Violence’ for all victims, next month and beyond.”
