Since November 2024, KRA has operated the Los Angeles County Rancho Dominguez American Job Center of California (AJCC) and a County-designated Center of Excellence (COE) for Justice-Involved Individuals, providing no-cost Business Services for employers and Career Development Services for WIOA-eligible Adult, Dislocated, and Youth jobseekers.
On July 30, the AJCC/COE convened a tremendously successful Community Job and Resource Fair, connecting community-resource partners, employers, and jobseekers and expanding access to employment opportunities, social services, and supportive workforce resources.
The Fair—organized by members of the Community Engagement, Business Services, Second Chance, and Intake Teams—connected 220+ jobseekers with 45+ public, private, and nonprofit organizations, generating hundreds of meaningful conversations, resume submissions, interview opportunities, and direct recruitment for open positions.
Employers represented diverse industry sectors including education, healthcare, housing, manufacturing, public safety, social services, the military, and workforce development, demonstrating strong hiring potential, e.g.:
- The Los Angeles Unified School District Classified Career Center connected with approximately 100 jobseekers, identifying candidates for 10–15 positions.
- Asteri Behavioral Treatment Center engaged with approximately 50 jobseekers, received 25 applicant sign-ups, and conducted interviews for five open positions.
- Department of State Hospitals – Metropolitan connected with approximately 150 jobseekers, received 66 sign-ups, scheduled more than 10 interviews, and began guiding selected applicants through the hiring process.
Several employers helped create an engaging and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day with Just More Guidance Group donating meals for jobseekers and raffling-off Chick-fil-A gift cards for employers; seven other employers donating raffle prizes for jobseekers; and LINC Housing providing snacks for the participants.
After the Fair, feedback from Survey Forms—completed by both employers and jobseekers—was analyzed related to Fair organization, employer participation, overall quality, and other experiences and impressions valuable for planning future job-fair events.
The Fair reflects Rancho Dominguez’s ongoing commitment to building responsive workforce systems, strengthening Countywide partnerships, creating lasting relationships to connect employers with qualified talent, and expanding opportunities that support continued economic stability throughout the community.
