Vanessa Atterbeary Advances to General Election

KRA Corporate Counsel, Vanessa E. Atterbeary, emerged from Tuesday’s primary as a candidate in the general election for the Maryland State House of Delegates, District 13.

Selected in March by incumbent Delegates Guy Guzzone, Shane Pendergrass, and Frank Turner to join “Team 13” as Guzzone seeks to fill a State Senate seat, Atterbeary’s primary election campaign focused on economic, education and family issues, and led to endorsements from numerous organizations, including the Baltimore Sun, Howard County Education Association, AFL-CIO, League of Women Voters, Equality Maryland, Clean Action Water Maryland, ASFCME Maryland, and Maryland Association of Realtors.

In a competitive field, Atterbeary prevailed with the highest number of votes, leading all the candidates; she and her fellow “Team 13” members all advanced to the general election, which will be held November 4.

In a message following  release of the primary results, Atterbeary stated, “The primary campaign provided a great opportunity to address issues that are important to District 13 residents, many of which overlap with our day-to-day work at KRA – economic security for families and supporting business and economic growth.  I am excited to be able to continue focusing on these and other issues as we look to the general election.”
