NJ Mayors Acknowledge Invaluable KRA Partnership

In letters sent to KRA Program Manager, Anita Davis, the Mayor of the Borough of Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey, John Wolk, and Frank Filipek, Jr., Mayor of the Borough of Bellmawr, New Jersey, expressed their appreciation to the KRA Camden, New Jersey office for the effectiveness of its Community Work Experience Program (CWEP). The Mayors became aware of KRA’s work by the number of successful CWEP referral-placements to various Borough departments. While many New Jersey municipalities are struggling…due to budget cutbacks and staff layoffs…to meet public maintenance (parks and recreation facilities, public works and sanitation services, etc.) obligations, KRA’s partnership with these two Boroughs provides job-ready applicants with aptitudes and interests in landscaping, painting, road/street paving, sanitation services, et.al. KRA has referred six CWEP customers to Mt Ephraim and three to Bellmawr, so far. These placements are a win-win for all concerned, as Mayor Wolk noted: “The KRA Community Work Experience Program has been invaluable to Mt. Ephraim and has allowed us to provide services to our residents at no cost to our taxpayers while also providing clients with work experience and the opportunity to be a part of something valuable.” Good job performance and attendance will enable CWEP participants to be considered for jobs when opportunities arise, and letters of reference will assist them when they begin their search, with KRA guidance, for permanent employment.
