Whoever said lightning doesn’t strike twice didn’t know about KRA Corporation’s capacity for attracting the most outstanding professionals in our industry! For the second year in a row, the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) has chosen a KRA employee…Mary Hennessey, this time…for receipt of its prestigious Jodi Spiegel Enhancement of Customer Service Award.
Nominees are rated by an Awards Committee that considers Individual Achievement, Circumstances and Challenges, and Advancement of the Profession to decide who best epitomizes those qualities, and who, according to NAWDP, “directly affect[s] the customers of the workforce development system through enhanced assessment strategies, customer focused procedures, case management systems, and related services.”
From 2009 to 2012, Hennessey was the Site Coordinator for the Manchester One-Stop Center, one of four sites operated by KRA for CTWorks, which is funded by Capital Workforce Partners. During that time, she set the tone for excellence in customer service, and when a survey was conducted, Manchester had a 95% customer satisfaction rate!
In 2012, KRA/CTWorks Manchester received an award from Vernon Adult Education (VAE) for the Center’s support of its adult ed programs, due in large part to Hennessey’s collaboration with VAE and other community partners. Then, in 2013, Hennessey was presented with the Patricia Mayfield Memorial CTWorks One Stop Workforce Professional Award for her contributions to KRA/CTWorks and its customers.
Kimberley Staley, KRA Vice President & Director of Client Services, and KRA/CTWorks Program Manager, stated, “Mary’s commitment to workforce development is extraordinary; she knows our business inside-and-out. During her 10 years in the industry, she has served as a Job Developer, a Core Services Specialist, a Site Coordinator, and an Online Facilitator. And, most recently, in recognition of her extraordinary knowledge, skills, and abilities, Mary was promoted to KRA/CTWorks Ex-Offender Retention Specialist.”
Knowlton R. Atterbeary, KRA President & CEO, added “All of KRA congratulates Mary! We could not be more proud of her achievement in winning this coveted award, and her contributions to KRA/CTWorks. We will be there, cheering her on, when she accepts the award at the NAWDP Conference in May.”
KRA is also proud its 2013 NAWDP award recipients: Tiffany Haynes, KRA/VIEW Employment Specialist, for the Jodi Spiegel Enhancement of Customer Service Award, and Beth McCabe, KRA/CTWorks Core Services & Staff Development Coordinator, for the Professional Development Award.
