It was reported previously that KRA staff from the North Central Region’s CTWorks Program had set a goal to raise $3,000 by December 14, 2012, for a very deserving cause…the Hartford Area United Way 2012 Fundraising Campaign. To accomplish the goal, staff devised several unique “fun-raising” activities. On December 5, it was proudly reported that two October and November activities… Dress-Up Jeans Day and Paper T-Shirt Contest…had raised $1,426 toward the goal!
Another $581 was added to that subtotal, for a campaign-to-date sum of $2,007, as a result of very successful Bake Sales held on November 16, 2012. According to Jerry Santostefano, KRA Customer Service Representative, “Hartford and New Britain are the two main KRA/CTWorks offices in the North Central Region, so they hosted the sales. Staff from the Enfield and Manchester offices baked cakes and cookies and brought them to either office. The goodies were awesome! Many satisfied customers bought Red Velvet Cake and Cupcakes, Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, Coconut and Pumpkin Flan, Fudge, Mini Cheese Cakes, Banana Bread, Carrot cake, Brownies, Magic Bars, and Pumpkin Rolls. For sure, lots of folks are probably eating carrots and celery for weeks to come.”
All of KRA is proud of this totally volunteer challenge undertaken by the KRA/CTWorks staff, and wishes them every success in raising the final $993 during December to meet their goal, the final results of which will be reported in the January issue.
