KRA/CTWorks Adopted a Family for Christmas

CTWorks-SA-Adopt-a-Family-LogoEliz Cruz, KRA Career Agent with the Greater Hartford CTWorksAmerican Job Center–operated for Capital Workforce Partners–wrote to her co-workers, “I’d like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the cash and gift-card contributions for our ‘adopted family’.” More than $500 was donated to help fulfill their Christmas wishes!”

Eliz was referring to the drive that she and colleague Maritza Morales, KRA Unit Supervisor, organized to support the local Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program.

CTWorks-Christmas-Gifts-Photo-252x181On December 21, 2015, the KRA/CTWorks‘  adopted family–a disabled,  retired grandmother raising her two granddaughters, 3 and 7, on her own–was presented with individually-wrapped gifts that included bedding, books, children’s clothing, coats,  household items, and toys, as well as JC Penney and Visa gift cards.

Eliz and Maritza agreed, “It was a rewarding experience, and also an honor, to be affiliated with the Adopt-A-Family Program. It was life-changing for us, and our own KRA/CTWorks family, to be able to assist a family in our community in need. Personally, it was a gratifying and humbling experience.”
