KRA Supports Workforce Partnership in Transition of County Career Services

In its August Newsletter, the San Diego Workforce Partnership published an article, stating in part, “The hard work of KRA was credited as one of the main reasons the Workforce Partnership was prepared to…move career center services in-house.

“The Workforce Partnership, its boards and the community share great appreciation for KRA’s contributions to the County over the past 10 years.”

“Acknowledging the significance of this milestone, the Workforce Partnership and KRA…celebrate the many accomplishments achieved during the…partnership, and successful collaboration on a plan for a seamless transition of services.”

Some of these many collaborative accomplishments, excerpted from the original article, include:

  •  “Since 2012, provided comprehensive, wraparound career services for San Diego County’s unemployed and under-employed residents in support of local and regional businesses.”
  • “Brought an uncompromising diversity, equity and inclusion perspective to the operations, building a local career services team and innovative program model representative of, and responsive to, the diversity of the San Diego community.”
  • “Created an indelible impact on the regional economy, resulting in national recognition by the workforce industry…regularly delivering program outcomes that out-performed other local workforce areas in California…with the Workforce Partnership ranked 1st or 2nd among the State’s 45 local workforce areas on key performance measures for the year ended June 30, 2021.”

Maxine Suka, KRA Director of Workforce Operations, Strategic Initiatives, and the Program Director of the Career Centers operation for the entire 10 years, commented, “It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve the San Diego County community alongside the Workforce Partnership. Together, we transformed the local workforce-development ecosystem, and trail-blazed the path forward for the future.

“We are very proud of our accomplishments over the past decade, and are poised to support the Workforce Partnership in its future endeavors.”
