KRA Staff Volunteer for “Project Homeless Connect”

KRA Career Agents and Employment Specialists participated in Norfolk’s “Project Homeless Connect” event by serving as Client Support Volunteers. Sponsored by the Office to End Homelessness, this outreach activity was held to assist Norfolk’s homeless population, and provided a variety of onsite information and services. KRA staff greeted and escorted attendees to the appropriate resources for information on medical treatments, substance abuse/mental health counseling, legal services, food stamps, SSI benefits, housing options, and employment and training opportunities. Staff also served as resident “employment experts” to provide individuals with employment tips and information such as online employment sites, resume outlines, pocket resumes, career opportunities, and updates on upcoming career fairs, including those sponsored by KRA.
