In March 2016, the San Diego Metro Region Career Centers—now a Countywide program operated by KRA for the San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP)—launched its first major online program, Searching in San Diego, the official SDWP Podcast for on-demand access to up-to-date “workforce topics, trends, and tips” for both jobseekers and employers.
To date, 92 Podcasts have aired, co-hosted by Diana Saldivar, KRA Career Centers Brand Manager and Doug Foresta, Workforce180 Director of Podcast Services and Communications, and supported by KRA/SDWP Career- and Business-Services specialists, who frequently contribute their personal experiences as well as their professional expertise.
For example, in the most recent episode, Maxine Suka, Director of Workforce Operations, discusses Parenting and Working During a Pandemic.
More programs aired recently focus on coping with both personal and professional challenges during these uncertain times. Access to these information-packed, motivational Podcasts is available via iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, or any podcast-listening app.

In March 2020, when California went into pandemic “lock down”, KRA/SDWP closed the eight Career Centers throughout the County to walk-in customers, and equipped staff with the audio- and video-technology required to provide services remotely. The transition from an in-person to a virtual environment, in which the Podcasts play a key role, has not impeded KRA’s ability to continue offering a comprehensive range of individual and group workforce-services’ activities, guidance, and support.
