Recently, Knowlton R. Atterbeary, KRA President & CEO, visited KRA’s Waccamaw Region offices in South Carolina. In addition to reviewing program operations with Program Manager, Mary Prince, and Operations Manager, Anthony Featherstone, Mr. Atterbeary held candid “Q&A with the CEO” sessions with both Adult and Youth services staff, which included a dozen KRA Career Agents and three KRA Business Service Representatives. In a follow-up note of appreciation, Mr. Featherstone wrote: “Mr. Atterbeary, on behalf of the Waccamaw staff I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our area. The staff and I truly enjoyed and valued our time speaking with you. The information and knowledge provided during your trip will be a definite asset in our continuing efforts to ensure program success.” Acknowledging and truly appreciating the critical role that community partners…both public and private…play in the success of each and every KRA program, Mr. Atterbeary’s trip was further highlighted by meetings with Mr. Tom Rice, Chairman of the Horry County Council; Ms. Mary Nell Smith, Area Director, Coastal One-Stop Career Center; and Mr. Neyle Wilson, President of the Horry-Georgetown Technical College. From the week of May 17 through the week of September 27, 2011, Mr. Atterbeary will visit the rest of the WIA Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth services programs, as well as the TANF and General Assistance program sites operated by KRA.
