KRA Expands Online Services for Customers During Pandemic

In March 2016, the San Diego Metro Region America’s Job Career Centers (AJCC)—now a County-wide workforce-services program operated by KRA for the San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP)—launched its first major online program, Searching in San Diego, the official SDWP Podcast for on-demand access to the most up-to-date “workforce topics, trends, and tips” for both jobseeker- and employer-customers.

To date, 81 podcasts have aired, dual-hosted by Diana Saldivar, KRA Career Centers Brand Manager and Doug Foresta, Workforce180 Director of Podcast Services and Communications, and supported by a team of Career- and Business-Services professionals, whose own experiences, many times, contribute to episode development.

The latest six airings focused on these information-packed workforce-services topics, including tips for virtual job-hunting during the COVID-19 pandemic:

You can access these motivational podcasts through multiple media sources, including iTunes, Spotify, SoundcloudGooglePlay, Stitcher, and YouTube. So, listen, subscribe, share, comment, and “like”, and be sure to check back for information on the next Virtual Job Fair, July 16, or see all scheduled events here.

In March 2020, California was the first state to go into “lock down” due to the pandemic. Consequently, the eight AJCCs closed their doors to walk-in customers, and equipped all KRA staff with the resources and technology required to work-from-home.

The transition from “brick-and-mortar” based services to a total online environment did not impede KRA in the least from continuing to offer a comprehensive range of services through webinars and virtual workshops, face-to-face interactions with career-development professionals, on-demand training courses, a career portal to access active job openings, and information about other helpful workforce programs and resources.
