KRA Monthly Spotlight!

KRA Attracts New Business Partner – KRA’s Camden, New Jersey multi-program operation has established a business partnership with Holmes Crabs, which recently re-opened its doors on the Camden waterfront after a 7-year hiatus. Thomas Davis, KRA Team Leader approached Jay Banks, the restaurant’s Public Relations Manager, and shared with him the many benefits, services, and resources available through KRA/Camden’s workforce development programs. They discussed the restaurant’s hiring needs and came to agreement that Youth Employment Success (YES) participants will fill positions as Interns…with potential fulltime employment…as Customer Service Representatives, Wait Staff, and Kitchen Helpers. Mr. Banks also agreed to offer employment to KRA/Camden’s TANF and General Assistance customers through On-the-Job Training opportunities. In addition, he expressed a desire to become a member of KRA/Camden’s newly formed Advisory Board, and to offer Holmes Crabs’ support for fundraising events throughout the next 12 months to assist YES youth interested in attending Camden County College in the Fall of 2012. Holmes Crabs was established in 1974, and is currently owned by the founder’s granddaughter and her husband. KRA/Camden looks forward to a long and prosperous partnership with the Holmes Crab restaurant business.
