KRA Executive Graduates Prestigious Leadership Program

Vanessa E. Atterbeary, Esq., KRA Corporate Counsel, recently completed an 8-month leadership development program presented by Leadership Maryland, an independent, educational leadership development organization that informs top-level executives from the private and public sectors about the critical issues, challenges, and opportunities facing the State of Maryland, and its regions.  After participating in a broad range of experiences, these statewide leaders are prepared to address these issues and serve as important participants in the unified effort to shape Maryland’s future.

According to  Leadership Maryland Board Chairman Ralph W. Emerson, Jr., a 2003 graduate of the program and Senior Vice President of M&T Bank in Baltimore, “To be informed about statewide and regional issues, and having the opportunity to engage and interact with leaders who put themselves on the front line every day, has prepared these individuals to be the catalyst for positive change in Maryland.”

Leadership Maryland President and CEO Nancy Minieri, added, “These are the leaders to watch, now, and in the future.  Their experience confirms that the quality of leadership affects the success of the solutions.  Problems are solved when committed, dynamic and informed leaders, with vision and passion, are willing to take the risk to lead.”

When asked for comment, Ms. Atterbeary stated, “I was honored to have been selected to participate in Leadership Maryland’s 20th Anniversary Class of 2012.  The program was an invaluable experience that I will never forget!  What impacted me the most are the bonds of friendship built during the course of the program between classmates.  These are individuals you can call on, for any reason, because we shared an experience that broke down boundaries, fostered trust and honesty and provided the tools we need to move forward as a state.  I learned that there is still a great deal of work to be done in Maryland and I intend to take what I have learned to help continue to make this a great state in which to live and work!”
