Rosal Chavira, Operations Manager, American Job Center @ Malcolm X College’s West Side Learning Center and the Chatham Education & Workforce Center (CEWC), both operated by KRA for the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, reports, “I am thrilled to share the success of the United States Postal Service (USPS) Recruitment Event held at the CEWC last month, marking a significant milestone for KRA/Chicago as the highest attended event of our CEWC operation.
“For assistance and support in recruiting for 1,000+ open positions, a representative from the local USPS office reached out to KRA to plan and implement a Recruitment Event, subsequently organized by members of the Business Services Team under the guidance of Geneva Gayles, EWC Business Services Representative.
“KRA identified candidates for the event by sharing a USP Recruitment Flyer with dozens of community partners, as well as postings on several popular SoMe platforms. The enthusiasm and engagement from the community was evident, with people lining up outside as early as 9:30 for the 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM event.
“We enjoyed an impressive turnout, with 239 candidates creating their USPS User Accounts, completing the job application, and participating in one-on-one screenings to determine initial suitability, based on their work history, skills, and abilities as detailed in their resumes.
“The success of this event is a testament to our Team’s collaborative effort with the community, which was a key factor in achieving this remarkable response. Each contributor played a crucial role, ensuring that every phase, from planning to execution, reflecting not only our capability to host large-scale hiring events, but also highlighting KRA’s position as a vital community resource for both Career- and Business-Services customers and stakeholders.”
