Texas Takes Page From KRA Book

It was reported previously that a KRA Corporation/CTWorks management team conducted a workshop on the innovative FIRST (Focus, Intensive, Re-employment, Success, Training) Program model to an SRO crowd at the NAWDP conference in New Mexico. It appears someone from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) was so impressed with the presentation, the KRA team was invited to the TWC’s Workforce Forum in Austin, TX for a command performance.

On August 24, 2010, KRA Corporation staff Kimberly Staley, Program Manager; Charles Botts, Job Development Team Lead; and Joseph L. Seymour, Re-employment Specialist took center stage as featured presenters with “Who’s on FIRST? Serving America’s New Dislocated Worker”. Also, the team educated participants on the Five P’s of Program Design: Purpose, Participation, Performance, Process, and Packaging.

Both breakout sessions were filled with WD professionals eager to learn new “best practices” that could impact the quality of services they provide. Based on audience interaction, a thought-provoking Q&A segment, and positive participant feedback, we believe their expectations were more than fulfilled. The team even spent time after each session speaking with many individuals seeking additional guidance and information.
