The KRA/San Diego Metro Region Career Centers, operated for the San Diego Workforce Partnership, has established a partnership with the YMCA of San Diego County to provide employment opportunities for customers participating in the Welfare-to-Work Expanded Subsidized Employment [ESE] Program.
Deona Dorsey, KRA Operations Manager-Special Projects, reports, “Whoever first said ‘timing is everything’ was so right! We approached Joshua Law, Human Resources Office Administrator III, just when the organization was recruiting to fill several positions for the new Copley-Price YMCA.
Our relationship with the ‘Y’ is thriving! Not only have five ESE customers been hired in Member Services positions, they are also receiving supportive services that help their families achieve a healthier, more independent lifestyle. Currently, we are screening ESE candidates for more Member Services’ positions, as well as Childwatch and Preschool Attendant jobs.”
On the YMCA’s relationship with KRA/San Diego, Mr. Law commented, “We enjoy partnering with you in the community. We have hired some really outstanding people through your program.”
