When Sandra Garcia walked into the Rancho Dominguez AJCC, she wasn’t just looking for a job, she was looking for a future that would provide stability for her and her two children. Through dedicated career coaching and access to workforce-funded training, Sandra was able to take a decisive step toward a healthcare career.
In early January, Virginia Duran, KRA Career Coach with the Rancho Dominguez AJCC (American Job Center of California) Program for Los Angeles County received a statement from Erika McInnis, an Administrator at Life’s Good Learning College (LGLC), about KRA customer Sandra Garcia, who graduated on December 28, 2025.
“We are proud to celebrate Sandra Garcia, a recent graduate of our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Weekend Program. Sandra demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment throughout her training, balancing the demands of a rigorous weekend schedule while remaining focused on her goal of entering the healthcare field.
“From the beginning of the program, Sandra consistently showed a strong work ethic, reliability, and a genuine passion for patient care. She approached both classroom learning and hands-on clinical training with professionalism, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Her determination and positive attitude made her a valued member of the cohort.
“Sandra’s successful completion of the CNA program reflects her perseverance and readiness to serve others in a healthcare setting. We are confident she will make a meaningful impact as she moves forward in her nursing assistant career.”
Ms. Duran provides an overview of Ms. Garcia’s experience, “Sandra enrolled at KRA Rancho Dominguez as a WIOA-eligible Adult on August 27, 2025, seeking to explore workforce options and to create a career path that would provide a better future for her and her two children.
“She and I worked closely, assessing her abilities, aptitudes, and strengths to explore both short- and long-term career options. During this process, Sandra identified a strong interest in a healthcare career, for which CNA credentialling would be essential for optimal entry into the industry and for future advancement.
“Our Career Services Team was successful in securing an Individual Training Account to finance Sandra’s studies, and now in a job-ready status, she is working with Jorge Rodriguez, Business Services Representative, for employment-placement assistance.”
Sandra’s journey demonstrates what an effective workforce system looks like in action, connecting individuals to opportunity, supporting employers with skilled talent, and translating public investment into measurable outcomes that strengthen communities. All of KRA congratulates Sandra on her achievement and looks forward to celebrating her anticipated successful employment in the healthcare field.
