KRA SpotlightOur June Spotlight! is shining brightly on “Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin’ town”!  Recently, on behalf of KRA and its client-partner, the Chicago-Cook Workforce Partnership (CCWP), Ron Hearns, KRA Director of Midwest Workforce Operations, welcomed 60 guests to the Grand Opening of the Westside American Job Center!

Hearns then introduced Knowlton R. Atterbeary, KRA President & CEO, who extended his own welcome, including a special thank-you, to the assemblage, which included Karin Norington-Reaves, CCWP CEO; Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President; Alicia Ivy, Administrative Assistant to Ward 7 Alderman, Walter Burnett; and a host of Chicago-Cook region representatives and stakeholders.

Chicago Team PhotoThe Westside Center opened its doors 10 months ago. However, CCWP and KRA collaborated to host an official event to celebrate the exceptional progress that has been made to date, i.e., the KRA team has already surpassed employment-placement goals by 23 percent, training-placement goals by 31 percent, and is on-track to exceed year-end performance goals!

To highlight how KRA/Chicago Westside services are impacting community jobseekers and employers, Linda G., who enrolled as a WIOA Dislocated Worker, shared her success story. Currently, in addition to pursuing her career goal of IT/Project Management Professional certification, through Computer Training Source, Linda is also gaining valuable hands-on experience as a Health Project Coordinator with CVS at $35.00/hour!

Hearns provided closing remarks for the program, followed by refreshments, a tour of the facility, and an opportunity for guests to observe a Job Readiness Training Workshop session, an integral program-component of creating Innovative solutions, offering Exceptional services, and delivering Trusted results for our KRA/Chicago Westside customers.
