Another KRA Business Partnership Benefits WTW Customers

The KRA/San Diego Metro Region Career Centers, operated for the San Diego Workforce Partnership, has established a partnership with the YMCA of San Diego County to provide employment opportunities for customers participating in the Welfare-to-Work Expanded Subsidized Employment [ESE] Program. Deona Dorsey, KRA Operations Manager-Special Projects,  reports, “Whoever first said ‘timing is everything’ was so right!  We approached Joshua Law, Human Resources Office Administrator III, just when the organization was recruiting to fill several  positions for the new Copley-Price YMCA. KRA/K2C Academy Expands Services to Support Youth With Disabilities

Even before KRA announced that disability employment was the focus of its 2015 Community Care Campaign, the KRA Knowledge2Career (K2C) Academy had already developed two successful partnerships dedicated to expanding its workforce services to include youth with disabilities. Vanessa E. Atterbeary, Esq. has been appointed to serve on the Governor’s Workforce Investment Board by Michael Busch, Speaker of the Maryland State House of Delegates, and Dereck Davis, Chair of the Economic Matters Committee. KRA/San Diego Organizes Collaborative Career Event

“Mayor Kevin Faulconer came by to congratulate us on a job well done!” reports Deona Dorsey, KRA Operations Manager-Special Projects. That “job” was a mega Community Career Fair, a collaboration with key local partners–the San Diego Workforce Partnership, KRA client; the San Diego American Job Center network; local Welfare To Work agencies; and venue provider, the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation. KRA/Long Beach Officially Launches OSY Program

As reported previously, the KRA Knowledge2Career Academy (K2C) is a comprehensive workforce development program for Out-of-School Youth (OSY), 17-24, operated for the Pacific Gateway Workforce Development Board (PGWDB), in collaboration with the City of Long Beach and other key public- and private-sector partners. KRA shares the United Way of the National Capital Area (UW-NCA) objective to help all members of our community to have a quality education, financial stability, and good health. The DC Department of Human Services, KRA client for the operation of a TANF Employment Program (TEP), was a leading member of the UW-NCA Planning Committee responsible for the success of the recent Project Homeless Connect Resource Fair. KRA Launches 7th Annual Community Care Campaign

Recently, Patrick Boxall, KRA Vice President & COO, announced the launch of KRA’s 2015 Community Care Campaign.  Since 2009, KRA has united as a company to focus community-building efforts on a particular topic or issue of great importance.  Our 2015 Campaign targets disability employment. KRA Employee Joins CCWIB Youth Investment Council

In August, we reported on Chloe Shearer, a customer who was hired as a Receptionist by the KRA/Camden Job Skills Training Directly Related to Employment Program, subsequent to her successful participation in a State-sponsored OJT Program. KRA client, the Camden County [NJ] Workforce Investment Board (WIB), read Chloe’s Story, took a great interest in her, and included a version of the KRA article in their 2014 – 2015 PY Annual Report!
