As authorized by the Workforce Investment
Act (WIA) of 1997, the nation’s State and local Workforce
Investment Boards (WIBs) are responsible for developing and implementing
programs to maintain a high-performing workforce.
Through a nationwide network of
about 3,500 One-Stop career centers and additional stand-alone programs,
WIBs deliver core, intensive, and training services for adults,
dislocated workers, and youth. WIBs also provide business services
such as customized training and recruitment.
The KRA team supports local WIBs by operating comprehensive programs
that are readily accessed by job seekers and employers alike. Through
partnerships with industry, supportive-service providers, and training
and education organizations, we ensure that every program we operate
is customized to the needs of the local labor market.
