Norfolk DHS Selects KRA’s Anthony to Sing National Anthem

The April 30th Have You Heard?, official newsletter of the Norfolk Department of Human Services (DHS), congratulated KRA Corporation’s Marcus Anthony, who was selected to sing the National Anthem on Norfolk Tides Night, May 14th.  Marcus, one of 12 singers who auditioned, has been singing most of his life—with the Richmond Boys Choir through high school and currently with a local group that plays jazz seasoned with a little R&B.

Marcus has been with KRA since 2011, serving the DHS’ VIEW (Virginia Initiative for Employment not Welfare) Program as a Career Agent, New Hire Orientation Facilitator, and Co-Captain of the “Relay for Life” team that raises funds for the American Cancer Society.

Marcus commented, “I feel especially honored because I am not even a city of Norfolk staffer! So, when the committee selected me, it was even more gratifying.”

After the event, Marcus received a message from Capri M. Stanley, Norfolk’s Director of Human Resources: “On behalf of the Employee Engagement Committee and the City Administration, I would like to congratulate you on an excellent performance during the Tides Game. You represented the City of Norfolk and the Department of Human Services well. We are honored to have such talented members of Team Norfolk.”
