Summary While delivering innovative solutions, exceptional service and trusted results, the Education Slot Developer is responsible for networking and developing relationships with community based, public, private, religious and non-profit organizations to assist TANF customers in enhancing and upgrading their workplace skills & educational levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Become certified and provide instruction for the following in-house certification programs: CPR/First-Aid, Microsoft Digital Literacy, ServSafe Foodhandling, Customer Service, & Environmentally Safe Cleaning (Green).
Review customer IRPs to ensure Service Provider Manual (SPM) compliance for referrals for training/educational programs.
Actively engage customers and staff for the purpose of recruiting eligible customers for in-house training programs.
Assess, participant’s eligibility for career training and educational programs.
Secure & formalize (Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding) training agreements/partnerships with local employers, academic/vocational trainings providers, and government agencies.
Manage existing MOU/MOA’s to ensure all parties involved are in compliance with the established terms.
Regularly interact with educational providers/partners to assess quality of training and customer progress. Utilize all information gathered to assist in mitigating barriers hindering customers from being successful in their training/education programs.
Serve as liaison between KRA and governing/policy-establishing bodies for education in the District of Columbia. This is to ensure KRA is operating within established governmental policies & guidelines for education in the District of Columbia. Some of these agencies may include, but aren’t limited to: Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), Office of the Deputy Mayor of Education, District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), District of Columbia Public Charter School, District, District of Columbia Educational Licensure Commission, etc.
Maintain accurate tracking log to document pertinent information regarding external partnerships and in-house training.
Actively engage and attend meetings/events for local associations & councils related to workforce development & training to ensure KRA education department is aligning its’ program(s) with industry needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Demonstrated Job Knowledge A Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, behavioral science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
A minimum of three years’ experience working with an adult population.
Demonstrated experience and/or formal training in education or policy; familiarity with sales and/or marketing techniques.
Proven ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally-diverse customer base; ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them towards achieving goals.
Personal computer literacy required including the ability to navigate the Internet and a basic familiarity with Microsoft office; ability to learn and efficiently utilize various case management software programs.
