KRA Presents at NAWDP 2017 Annual Conference

NAWD 2017 Logo - smallerIn addition to two Pre-Conference Workshops, this year’s National Association of Workforce Development Professionals event featured 70 General Workshops, presented through five “tracks”, two of which were Leveraging and Establishing Partnerships and Priority Populations. Six KRA subject-matter experts presented exciting workshops relevant to the other three tracks:

Business and Economic DevelopmentJohn Hattery, Director, Strategic Partners; Pamela Carnes, Program Manager, Business Engagement Services; and Jonathan Overall, Senior Business Services Consultant, co-conducted Congratulations! You’re the Business Services Manager…Now What? on innovative strategies for building regional business partnerships, initiating one-on-one business-engagement relationships, and effectively measuring results against WIOA performance standards.

Delivering Career Services – Maylynne Rayos, Manager, Training & Program Development, San Diego Metro Region and Terrance Bowens, Workshop Facilitator, Alameda County, co-presented 10 Tips to Building a #Winning Online Presence. Highlighting KRA’s success with Searching in San Diego podcasting—with 500-1500 downloads per episode—the duo provided tried-and-true SoMe success strategies… auditing your existing presence, choosing platforms wisely, using analytics for ensuring that your SoMe strategy is achieving your goals and objectives…and more.

Managing Change – Corporate Training & Development Manager, Joseph Seymour’s “crash course”, The Outcome Zone: Effective Performance Management for Workforce Professionals, included transforming your leadership; optimizing change, from inputs to outcomes; identifying and measuring key performance indicators; and connecting professional development to performance expectations to empower teams for success.

KRA, a long-standing member, presenter, and supporter, considers NAWDP conferences the premier venues for enhancing education for ourselves, as well as others. Thus, with strategic pre-Conference planning and scheduling, more than 20 staff from across the country covered all of the General Workshops to hear from other industry experts, peers, and stakeholders who share our commitment to the success of the customers we serve.
