Administration Focuses on Job-driven Training, Apprenticeships in Workforce Development

KRA/Baltimore Customer Referrals Increase as Result of Client Tour

As the newest Baltimore City Department of Social Services’ (DSS) vendor providing Work Participation, Placement, and Support Services for recipients of Temporary Cash Assistance, KRA Corporation recently began its second year of operation participating in an eight-District tour of vendors being conducted by DSS officials. Grants to Develop Long-term U.S. Workforce through Education and Skills Acquisition

Since President Obama issued his call-to-action at the beginning of the year, the efforts of the current administration regarding workforce development have remained consistently strong particularly with regard to the at-risk youth and veteran populations—two groups that KRA Corporation feels are most in need of assistance. Our Spotlight! is shining on the San Diego Metro Region American Job Center of California’s Ault/Dislocated Worker (A/DW) Program, operated by KRA Corporation and funded through WIA by the San Diego Workforce Partnership. Senate Breathes Life into Unemployment Insurance Benefits

KRA Corporation looks at the recent development in the Senate regarding the extension of long-term emergency unemployment benefits after it stalled in January. Legislation coming out of the Senate is set to reauthorize the emergency unemployment insurance (EIU) benefits for some two and a quarter million Americans who have been without it since the end of last year when it was allowed to lapse by lawmakers. By a vote of 65-34 last Thursday, the Senate received the necessary 60 votes to advance EUI benefits coverage. The bipartisan effort ended the filibuster, which had blocked any chance of its passage onto the Congress.
